An independent archive preserving the artwork of Dreamcast VMU and PlayStation PocketStation games—and the evidence behind it.
Collection counts checked November 3, 2026. Export totals include variants and previews, so they should not be described as unique artworks.

A short description for coverage
Second Screen Archive is an independent project by Oliver (Ollistration), preserving and documenting artwork from Dreamcast VMU and PlayStation PocketStation games. Its free galleries and downloads pair character art, animation frames, and interface graphics with source information, verification notes, and research into how the images were used.

Second Screen Archive documents artwork from Dreamcast VMU and PlayStation PocketStation games. If you are writing about a collection, making a video, or studying a visual detail, these steps help your audience find the images and understand the evidence behind them.
Using and citing the archive
Link to the collection or the individual artwork
Every game collection has a stable page URL. Use Cite this collection beside the collection details to copy its title, URL, archive credit and source description. To point at a particular image, open it in the viewer and choose Copy artwork link. That link opens the same artwork within its collection.
Linking to the gallery rather than only a ZIP or image file gives readers access to the source groups, download and current preservation notes.
A suggested credit
Artwork from [game title], [source edition or group]. Preservation and documentation by Oliver (Ollistration), Second Screen Archive. [Collection or artwork URL]. Original game artwork belongs to its respective creators and rightsholders.
If you cite a specific finding, also link to the relevant research article. In a video, a collection link and a brief credit in the description help viewers follow the evidence. For formal research, add your access date and use your required citation style.
Keep the evidence with the image
- Identify the game, device and source group. Retail-disc graphics, bonus material and compilation extras can have different provenance.
- Read the collection’s documented checks and remaining limits. A pixel match does not automatically establish when or how an image appeared during play.
- Retain labels such as illustrative animation, stored sprite or code reconstruction. Do not present them as hardware captures or verified original timing.
- If you crop, recolor, assemble or animate an image for your presentation, say what you changed. Use nearest-neighbor scaling when you want to preserve crisp pixel boundaries.
Artwork rights and archive credit are separate
The archive preserves and documents artwork; it does not claim authorship of the original game graphics. Free browsing and downloads are not a license from the original rightsholders. We cannot grant permission on their behalf. Credit the original creators where known, and credit the archive separately for the preservation work or research you use.

Corrections and additional evidence
If you can identify an image’s use, clarify a source, or compare it with hardware or emulator output, include the collection URL, the relevant artwork name and your evidence when contacting Second Screen Archive on Neocities or Bluesky. Documented corrections help keep the archive useful.
Help preserve the next collection
Browsing and downloads stay free. Contributions support the time spent recovering artwork, checking evidence and documenting the results.
